Microcontroller-based Ecology
I am collaborating with James Mickley to develop microcontroller units that are capable of measuring a wide range of environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, air pressure, soil moisture, PAR, etc.) for a fraction of the cost of commercially available units. We are currently working on a paper describing the process of building and deploying these versatile units.
We believe that it is fundamentally important to be measuring microenvironment, and hope that our sensor units will meet the growing demand for powerful, low-cost environmental monitoring units (EMUs).
Please contact me if you are interesting in using EMUs!
